Lehigh Valley

Named for the Lehigh River that runs through it, Lehigh Valley is the third most populous region in the state of Pennsylvania behind Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton representing the largest cities in the area.  It has also been one of the fastest growing regions in the Northeast since 1990.

Griffin's Pennsylvania properties are located 60 miles north of Philadelphia, 70 miles west of New York City, and about 200 miles from Washington D.C.  Within a day's drive of our Lehigh Valley Tradeport developments are potential customers who represent 40% of U.S. population and purchasing power, including 6 of the top 10 markets.  The Lehigh Valley region's strategic location and comprehensive transportation network make it easy and convenient to reach those markets.

The Lehigh Valley has a broad base of employers, with healthcare, retail trade, food and manufacturing firms, replacing the steel industry.  High-tech industries also have a presence, with a strong focus on biotech and pharmaceutical firms.

  • The Lehigh Valley has been ranked the 2014 top-performing region for economic development in the Northeastern United States for metropolitan regions of similar size, according to Site Selection Magazine, one of the most widely-read national magazines that covers corporate real estate and economic development.
  • Lehigh Valley has ranked in the top 10 of the best-performing metropolitan areas in Site Selection Magazine's prestigious Governor's Cup Awards for seven consecutive years.
